Never Apart and Eastern Bloc have teamed up once again for this year’s edition of Nuit Blanche. Using Expo ’67 as a guiding programming principle, 'Social Habitat' is a nod to Habitat ‘67 and the environments with which we inhabit and navigate as communal beings participating in positive social production.
Given the prevalent themes of ‘modernism’ and ‘futurism’ in the days of Expo, the cultural climate specific to that era serves as inspiration to curate a show that is also modernist in approach: one that is motivated not only by art and technology, but by a political and social agenda which it seeks to propogate.
Our lineup is composed of artists sitting at the cutting-edge of the musical avant-garde, one which has become ever more political and gender/genre blurring. Through this evening's program, we will speak to modern ideas of gender identity, globalism, the Internet, and more, through a celebration of art driven by positive action, agency, and inclusivity.
