In this teacher training certificate participants learn the challenges, rewards and difference in the approach to offering yoga classes and one-to-one for large, thin and those with different shaped bodies. There are as many different asanas there are shapes of people.
Participants will learn anatomy, 3 stages of life (young, middle and older), illnesses, complaints and the discomforts for persons of different shapes. The intension of this certificate program is to use yoga therapy awareness and modifications of general and restorative asana, prana, and meditations to facilitate balance and healing for this group of people.As a result of the training
Participants will be confident to lead people in small and large yoga classes and private sessions who have different abilities due to their shapes; with a solid understanding on how size and shape does not determine flexibility, ability and mobility and when they do.
Gaining a solid foundation in the approach of restorative and yoga therapy techniques; when to use and when they are not necessary.
Additionally, what and where to make shifts in the intent of the yoga through modifications to gain full understanding between discomfort, pain, fear, apprehension and enthusiasm (where someone flexible is overstretching).
Participants will have skills to teach yoga to variety of shaped people during yoga classes.
