There is much more to learning than attending classes! That’s why the International Ethnic Association Council (IEAC), the governing body of 11 Member Associations and student clubs on campus, work to create and continue social traditions and events throughout the annual academic year designed to foster cohesiveness within the entire cultural undergraduate population.
So! Come get involved!
We are currently accepting nomination for all board of director positions as well as VP communication. ( OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS * Except current Execs members associated with the IEAC)
The following is a rough description of what is expected of the elected Student:
Board of Director Positions are on a volunteer basis, comprised of four officers and have 1 year terms. As a director, you are elected by the clubs to oversee the Association as whole.
- A director is responsible of the development of strategies, Policies and guidelines on the circumstances in which directors will be considered to be in conflict.
- carry out all of their duties in the best interests of the corporation;
- Directors will receive legal duties to oversee the management of our objectives and further our cause.
- Carefully review all reports relating to the corporation’s financial affairs, including interim and year-end financial statements with our VP finance and President.
- Be aware of all internal policies affecting the organization and ensure that certain key policies are in place (such as an investment policy and conflict of interest policy);
VP Communication position is on a volunteer basis and has 1 year terms.
- Organize all meetings in coordination with the Chairperson;
- Be responsible for keeping minutes of all meetings and general assemblies, and distributing them to those present;
- Communicate any relevant information, announcements or communications, to the member associations;
- Coordinate the electoral committee;
- Be responsible for ensuring that the associations and executives are aware of the I/EAC regulations.
SCHEDULE AS FOLLOWS :
NOMINATIONS (9th of AUGUST - 16th of AUGUST)
- To ensure continuity in the management of the International Ethnic Association Council (IEAC) only an enrolled undergraduate student who is a full-time or part-time student during the academic year from Concordia University with a good academic standing will be considered for the leadership positions.
- Candidates are expected to submit a brief statement of their goals and vision to join the IEAC at ieac.concordia@gmail.com
- Prospective candidates may retrieve Nomination Forms from the IEAC main office:

CANDIDATES
- Each candidate will have 60 seconds to present themselves, their vision and intentions for the IEAC, etc.
Q&A
- A Brief (Max 5 minutes) Q&A session will be brought forth.
VOTERS
- Members voting must belong to an IEAC associated club.
- The student body of each clubs will vote for each position.
- Attendance at the General Assembly meeting is mandatory to vote.
- Each club will be given a ballot with the candidates’ names on it and can vote once for each position.
