The Green Data Campaign is a way to learn the tools used by Data Scientists and impact the community.
Osmos Academy organizes community projects, workshops, and events. Together, we learn about and create change through emerging technology. At each event, experts and community leaders provide resources and work together to design and develop proposals. The goal of the Green Data Campaign is to show the impact of data on real world problems.
We are organizing 4 events throughout the month of May - 3 workshops and 1 design sprint - followed by a month of development on a project/proposal for Verdir and Soverdi, to be presented at the end of the month of June. - http://osmosacademy.com/data-science
Osmos Academy is working with Printemps Numérique, MTL NewTech, and MTL Data to help Verdir - an initiative of Concertation MTL - and the Soverdi plant 300,000 trees on the Island of Montreal!
The Challenge:
The goal is to develop a prototype of a useful, collaborative, innovative and concrete mapping digital tool that will facilitate the development of green corridors for the benefit of urban biodiversity and its residents' well-being.
We are partnering for the Défi HackCité (hackathon), May 14th-15th, that will be around the same problematic. Get more information and register for the hackathon here: https://www.facebook.com/events/153505061713541/
