comment la science peut rendre les danseurs plus efficaces
Cet atelier est dédié au professeurs, chorégraphes et danseurs. A partir des récentes recherches en science de la danse, les participants auront une introduction des bénéfices que ces connaissances et compréhensions peuvent avoir sur les danseurs. Cet atelier de quatre heures sera théorique et pratique permettant aux participants d'explorer et de discuter sur les différentes questions en relation aux corps dansant efficace et en santé.

Dance Science: from research to practice, how can science make efficient dancers.
This workshop is for teachers, choreographers and dancers. Focussing on recent research findings from dance science, the participants will be introduced to benefits such knowledge and understanding can have on dancers. This four hours workshop will be both theoretical and practical allowing participants to explore and discuss different questions in relation to a healthy and efficient dancing body.

Karine Rathle is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and researcher in dance and dance science. Dance has been an integral part of Karine’s life since childhood, she developed a solid base in classical ballet at Pierre Laporte College. Since then, she has extended this experience to include Contemporary dance, argentinean tango, contact improvisation, modern dance, flamenco, argentinean folkloric dances. Karine is also a Pilates certified teacher and practices yoga regularly. She has extensive knowledge in the field of Somatics and integrates it to her own practice and teaching.
Karine Rathle is also co-founder and co-director of Fleur d’asphalte, a dance and creation studio in Montreal (Canada). She has a MSc degree in Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London (UK). She has taught in renowned dance institutions in London such as Bird College, Trinity Laban and Central School of Ballet.
Karine has been leading many teacher training sessions on different subjects such as verbal and tactile feedback, anatomy for the dance class, injury prevention, injury management, fitness and complimentary training, alignment, warming-up cooling down and so on. Recently Karine has been leading on a training course project for contemporary dance teachers in Cairo, Egypt, where she leads on all the components in relation to dance science. She has also presented her work at several international conferences.
She has performed internationally and continues to create multidisciplinary and collaborative work. Karine’s work is fuelled by an interest in creating a multidisciplinary, personal and authentic language. Extending beyond the perceived limits of the physical, Karine's voyage of discovery aspires to integrate the movement, the image and the theatrical aspect in both her creation, and her performance of dance.
