McGill professor Ilya Poletaev joins Russian-born American composer Yevgeniy Sharlat for a conversation about the use of certain Baroque instrumental forms as structural templates in his music, among other topics.
Mr. Sharlat, who teaches composition at the University of Texas at Austin, is in Montreal for the Canadian premiere of his 2008 piano composition Chaconne, which Dr. Poletaev will perform.
