2015 National Meeting of canadian convivia to be held in Montréal between the 22nd and 26th of April 2015Dear Slow Food members,
It is with great pleasure that I inform you that the 10th National Meeting of Canadian Slow Food convivia will be held in Montreal, from April 22nd to April 26th, alongside with Terra Madre St-Lawrence.
I invite you to follow the shores of the Saint-Lawrence River and it’s tributaries, from the Great Lakes to the North Atlantic to come and celebrate the 15 years of Slow Food in Montréal as well as our 10th anniversary of National Meetings of Slow Food in Canada.
We are proud to announce that for the occasion we are organizing the first regional meeting of food communities for the North-East America, Terra Madre St-Laurent and the Marché du Goût de Montréal.
Our meeting will be inspired by the themes of biodiversity as well as the link to the land in the honor of 2015 UN International year of the soils. The event will be an opportunity of sharing and learning’s with other members of Slow Food, food communities coming from across the country the North Eat United-States.
Our program will focus on exchanges and learning opportunities between different convivial and activists of friendly organization and network that share our combat for a good, clean and fair food system, no matter what are the participants affiliations.
With Earth workshops (forums), Conferences, Taste workshops, an exhibit space for Slow Food Projects called Slow Food AGORA coming from International and more importantly, from your convivia, we are sure that you will enjoy yourself in a meaningful way.
You are invited to actively contribute to the program of the events, for conferences and earth workshops by sending us topics and issues you want to talk about and share.
Also, each delegate will be gathered by region of origin to elaborate a dish to be served in the Dinner of the regions to represent your regional food culture(s) on Friday April 24th.
All members of Slow Food that wish to participate, the movement representatives and members and activists from other invited organizations and NGOs. Delegate status is address in the attached protocol.
Here are the subscription period and fees:
- Early birds fee (December 21st to 31st): 300 $ CAD
- Regular fee (January and February): 375 $ CAD
- Last minute fee (March): 450 $ CAD
- Airport and Train station pick-up
- Montreal public transit for pass for the Week
- 12 meals, Wednesday to Sunday
- Access to Canadian National meeting of convivia sessions
- Access to Terra Madre St-Laurent program (Earth workshops, Conferences, Disco soup, ...)
- Access to Canadian campaign committee meetings on Wednesday 22nd
- Access to the Marché du Goût and it’s free activities
- Participation in Espace Françoise Kayler debate
- Participation in the Dinner of the regions
- Biodiversity Gala ticket.
Please note this does not include hotel room. It is possible to be billeted in a local family upon request if you can’t afford an hotel, though places are limited.
