Dans le cadre de la programmation de Fierté Canada Montréal 2017, Ethnie-cité se veut un grand rassemblement célébrant le multiculturalisme montréalais. Animée par les chouchous de la scène Moe Hamandi et l'humoriste Em, cette soirée propose un voyage extraordinaire aux quatre coins du monde. D'est en ouest, du sud au nord, l'événement vise à illustrer la diversité à partir des différences. Il s'agit d'un spectacle multidisciplinaire où se côtoient chorégraphes, chanteurs et chanteuses, danseurs et danseuses, artistes de cirque et percussionnistes. Près d'une cinquantaine d'artistes se retrouveront sur scène, tel gypsykumbiaorchestra, l'orchestre qui danse et fait danser, avec son irrésistible fusion de percussions traditionnelles colombiennes et de musique de fanfare d'Europe de l'Est. La magie du Moyen-Orient et de la musique arabe, la joie du dabkeh, danse folklorique libanaise, seront incarnées par Moe. La splendeur de Rio, sa musique caractéristique, son rythme entraînant et ses costumes colorés, sont rendus par l'affriolante samba de Penande Estime Sumerville, avec Lisa Duffy et Jenny Acosta. Notre avion se dirige ensuite vers les Caraïbes pour y cueillir Randay, chanteur de la relève electro-pop. Le Vietnam sera également présent par le biais du styliste R&B Narcissé Soulsinger, interprète et artiste multidisciplinaire. C'est la talentueuse Sandy Duperval, chanteuse, DJ et productrice, qui agira comme le chef d'orchestre de notre spectaculaire soirée.
As part of the Canada Pride Montréal 2017's program, Ethnie-Cité seeks to be a rallying point mirroring the ethnic diversity of our city. This grand multicultural evening hosted by stage darlings Moe and comic Em features an extraordinary journey to the four corners of the world. From East to West and North to South, it aims to illustrate diversity through differences. This multidisciplinary presentation brings together choreographers, dancers, circus performers and percussionists. Some 50 artists will be introduced including Gypsy Kumbia, the multicultural big band that dances and makes you dance with its irresistible fusion of traditional Columbian percussions and Eastern European fanfare music. The magic of the Middle East and of the arab music as well as the joy of the dabke, the lebanese folk dance, will be incarnated by Moe. The splendor of Rio, its characteristic music and rousing rhythms,along with the colorful costumes is personified by the warm samba of Penande Estime with Lisa Duffy and Jenny Acosta. Next, our flight heads for the Caribbean to welcome emerging electropop singer Randay. Vietnam is also represented by emerging R&B stylist Narcissé Soulsinger, multidisciplinary artist. Acting as the conductor for the evening is Sandy Duperval, the enormously talented singer, DJ and producer. Welcome aboard!
