Batteur et compositeur Daniel Freedman est né et a grandi à New York. Il fut l'élève de Max Roach et Billy Higgins. Daniel est actuellement en tournée en tant que membre du groupe de la chanteuse Angélique Kidjo, gagnante d'un grammy. Il a joué et enregistré avec des artistes tels que Sting, Youssou N'Dour, Dianne Reeves, Omara Portuondo et bien d'autres.
La sortie en 2012 de "Bamako By Bus" présente la bande centrale de Lionel Loueke, Jason Lindner, Avishai Cohen, et Meshell N'degeocello ainsi que des invités comme Mark Turner et Pedro Martinez. Daniel est un co-leader du groupe Love mondial acclamé troisième avec Avishai Cohen, Omer Avital et Yonatan Avishai, et effectue des visites fréquentes avec le clarinettiste et saxophoniste du groupe Anat Cohen. Il a été choisi comme l'un des cinq batteurs qui fait évoluer la batterie dans le jazz par le New York Times dans l'article“Propelled by Different Drummers”.

Drummer and composer Daniel Freedman was born and raised in New York City and was a student of Max Roach and Billy Higgins. Daniel is currently touring as a member of Grammy winning singer Angelique Kidjo's band. He has played and recorded with artists such as Sting, Youssou N'Dour, Dianne Reeves, Omara Portuondo and many others.
His 2012 release on the Anzic Record label “Bamako By Bus” features the core band of Lionel Loueke, Jason Lindner, Avishai Cohen,and Meshell N'degeocello as well as guests Mark Turner and Pedro Martinez. Daniel is a co-leader of acclaimed band Third World Love with Avishai Cohen, Omer Avital and Yonatan Avishai, and tours frequently with clarinetist and saxophonist Anat Cohen's band. He was selected as one of five drummers who is changing jazz drumming for the New York Times article “Propelled by Different Drummers”.Daniel's record "Trio" (2002) on the Fresh Sound label received nine stars in Modern Drummer Magazine and he was featured in the same magazine in the article "Jazz Lions".
