Amour Arsenic / Arsenic Love by Kamille Yergeau marks a new artistic plateau for this young (21) Montreal painter. For her second solo exhibition at BBAM! Gallery, Kamille Yergeau has painted a murder mystery through a series of portraits of beautiful young women - all recently widowed.
Coincidence or mystery?
The paintings are a seductive but deadly collection of film noir femmes fatales. Beautiful masks hiding dark secrets. And dangerous pets making sure no one gets too close to the truth.
Each painting is a mystery waiting to be revealed. Let your imagination tell the story.

"The general idea of the show is the creation of deadly characters wearing beautiful masks. Something like a menace in the shadow wrapped up in a pretty bow. The women are all poised and calculated but the animals that accompany them reveal their true intentions. I used them to depict something like a storm below the surface, a violence behind a smile. Each painting has a different story to tell and gives clues to do so. I thought it would be fun to add a little bit of a murder mystery flair to it."
