This film portrays the timeless local pub, its characters, its history and the importance in the Irish community.
THE IRISH PUB is a celebration of the greatest institution in Irish Society, the pub or more specifically the traditional Irish publicans who run them. The characters in this exceptionally endearing film all run and own pubs that have been in their families for generations and and it is through their warmth, wit and wisdom that we gain an insight into the heart and soul of THE IRISH PUB.
But it is the universal message that really touches the heart & mind by changing what isn't broken we risj losing everything. It is family and community and chat that matters the most. You'll laugh your hearts out in parts, and may feel misty eyed at others. And by the end you'll most likely want to visit your local.
The Irish Pub film is a eulogy to the greatest institution in Irish society, the pub or more specifically the Irish traditional publican. These characters come from a long line of family generations to run and own their family pub. It is interwoven into Irish society. The famine, religious persecution and cultural enrichment all started and ended in the pub. The stories these men and women tell capture days gone by and it is feared these will be the last in a long line of family publicans who lived and died in their pubs with little interaction beyond that point.
