Notre Salonesque de 2015 (maintenant devenu événement biennal) nous revient dans l'esprit de l'Expo 67 ; un rassemblement mondial qui a laissé une marque indélébile sur la ville de Montréal et sur le Canada.
Initiative d'échange communautaire, Expo 67/17 comprend une exposition sans jury dans laquelle les murs de la galerie seront couverts d'oeuvres, section par section et du plancher au plafond. Cette exposition reprend les principaux thèmes exploités lors de l'authentique Expo 67 – l'individu en tant que personne créatrice, exploratrice, productrice et pourvoyeuse de sa collectivité. Votre oeuvre devient par conséquent votre pavillon, votre carte d'identité. Nouveauté cette année : pendant la soirée d'ouverture, notre espace théâtre sera ouvert aux artistes qui souhaitent présenter une première mouture ou un extrait de leurs créations scéniques dans une variété de disciplines.

What was Salonesque back in 2015 (and now a biannual event) returns in 2017 in the spirit of Expo 67, a world gathering, which left an indelible mark on the city of Montréal as well as Canada.
MAI’s rendition, Expo 67/17, a community exchange initiative includes a non-juried exhibition where section by section of the gallery walls will be filled from floor to ceiling. The exhibition embraces major themes put forth by the original fair – humankind as the creator, the explorer, the producer, the provider, and the community. Your work therefore becomes your pavilion, your identity card. New this edition, MAI’s theatre space will be activated for and by artists wishing to showcase unplugged versions of works in a variety of disciplines over the course of opening night.
