An Afternoon with Cedric Price no. 2
The CCA hosts a second afternoon of discussion on the work of Cedric Price in conjunction with the exhibition "What About Happiness on the Building Site?". As Price’s archive is one of the most consulted at the CCA, we have invited scholars to present their individual motivations and methodologies for researching the architect’s key projects.
With presentations by:
- SAMANTHA HARDINGHAM (Architectural Association) on Price’s writings
- WHITNEY MOON (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, School of Architecture & Urban Planning) on the Lightweight Enclosure Unit (LEU)
- MOLLY WRIGHT STEENSON (University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Journalism & Mass Communication) on the Oxford Corner House and Generator
- KATHY VELIKOV (University of Michigan, Taubman College) on Atom and the Detroit Think Grid
- MARK WIGLEY (Columbia GSAPP) on the Fun Palace

The event is followed by the opening of the exhibition "What About Happiness on the Building Site?" at 6pm in the Octagonal gallery, which features Price’s McAppy Report. It also coincides with a launch of the book "Cedric Price Works 1952–2003: A Forward-Minded Retrospective", co-published in October 2016 by the Architectural Association and the CCA.

Dans de le cadre de l'ouverture de l'exposition, » Et si on parlait de bonheur sur le chantier « , le CCA accueille un deuxième après-midi de discussion sur les travaux de Cedric Price. Comme les archives de cet architecte comptent parmi les plus consultées au CCA, nous avons invité des spécialistes à expliquer ce qui les motive à explorer les principaux projets de Price et à présenter les méthodologies qu’ils utilisent.

Cette rencontre sera suivie par l’inauguration de l’exposition Et si on parlait de bonheur sur le chantier? dans la salle octogonale, qui présente un rapport préparé par Price pour Alistair McAlpine.
Un après-midi avec Cedric Price coïncide également avec le lancement de l’ouvrage Cedric Price Works 1952–2003: A Forward-Minded Retrospective, publié en coédition en octobre 2016 par l’Architectural Association et le CCA.
