MIAMI CHRIST
Tropical pop pastiche borrowing from dub, 80's highlife, synth prog and arena pop, Montreal's MIAMI CHRIST coaxes audiences into the warm, wavvy glow of their sunshine cult.
Interlacing melodic guitar and vintage synth lines, murder-ballad narratives and grinding dancehall rhythms, MIAMI CHRIST has been crafting their unique sound at one-off loft shows and festival performances since 2012 (POP Montreal, Passovah Festival). Brothers Simon & Mark Beach (drums & guitars/FX) and Mikey Bwickers (keys & lead vox) employ tight vocal harmonies, pedal effects, and ambitious live instrumentation to recreate the power and presence of their studio album. The band will be supporting their self-titled debut album with a cross-Canada tour in the summer of 2015
COUNTRY
Former drug dealer/current crackhead, restauranteur, savant-folk bad boy, Beaver Sheppard, and synth virtuoso, whipping boy, producer, Mister Lavender, David Whitten, form the sleaze-wave duo Country. The distopic synthpop group came together out of nowhere, recorded an album, went on hiatus, almost threw it out, and then reconsidered – they birthed Failure on September 2, 2014. The sleaze-wave sound has been described as “My Bloody Valentine mixed with Dance Dance Revolution” and prides itself on being 10 years ahead of L.A. at all times.
