Legislating Architecture
Film Screening and Discussion with Arno Brandlhuber and Christopher Roth (in English)

"Legislating Architecture" explores how architecture is shaped by law and other societal regulatory systems. The film, directed by Arno Brandlhuber and Christopher Roth, presents excerpts from conversations conducted with architects including Luigi Snozzi, Adam Caruso, Tom Emerson, and Christian Kerez. It is a point of departure for an issue of archplus also entitled "Legislating Architecture," which was the product of a collaboration between Arno Brandlhuber and Tobias Hönig. The German edition of the publication has the subtitle “Gesetze gestalten!” which can be read as both a declaration that laws design, and as an exhortation to design laws. This phrase suggests that architecture is not only determined by regulations, but that it also has the power to create regulations.

"Legislating Architecture" examine comment la loi et d’autres systèmes de règlementation sociétale façonnent l’architecture. Réalisé par Arno Brandlhuber et Christopher Roth, le film présente des extraits de conversations avec des architectes, dont Luigi Snozzi, Adam Caruso, Tom Emerson et Christian Kerez. Il a inspiré un numéro d’ archplus aussi intitulé "Legislating Architecture," fruit de la collaboration entre Arno Brandlhuber et Tobias Hönig. L’édition allemande de la publication porte comme sous-titre « Gesetze gestalten! », qui peut être lu comme déclaration conçue par les lois en même temps qu’exhortation à concevoir des lois. La phrase suggère que l’architecture n’est pas seulement déterminée par des règlements, mais aussi qu’elle a le pouvoir d’en créer.
