Artistes présents : The Young Novelists, Carly Dow
THE YOUNG NOVELISTS
Exclaim! dubbed their first EP “unpretentious brilliance” and this six-piece folk-roots band has won critical acclaim ever since. BlogTO called them "one of the top 5 folk bands to watch in Toronto" and their live shows capture audiences with both barnstorming singalongs and poignant ballads. Their new album 'made us strangers' will be released on April 28th.
CARLY DOW
Carly Dow’s music will leave you charmed and haunted. Her wildcrafted soul-folk blends inspiration from wordsmiths Gillian Welch and Amelia Curran, with an edge reminiscent of Neko Case. Dow’s songwriting reflects a deep appreciation of beauty and darkness balanced throughout personal, physical and natural histories. The depth, space and stark allure of her home province of Manitoba seep into her music as main influences, which is apparent in the delivery of her striking, smoky vocals. Soft and sultry, pretty and gritty - this music has it all.
