Trio Montréalais synthpop, Paupière est féminin, masculin et parfois androgyne. En parfaite symbiose derrière leurs micros et leurs synthés, Pierre-Luc, Julia et Éliane dépeignent un univers musical saisissant empreint de force et de perplexité. Faisant tantôt écho à Bélanger ou Ferland pour les voix, parfois inspiré par Deux ou Gary Numan pour les sonorités, les influences de Paupière se déclinent de plusieurs façons mais se résume par une forte appartenance idéologique aux new romantics du début des années 80.

Montrealers synth pop trio, Paupière is feminine, masculine and sometimes androgynous. In perfect harmony behind their microphones and synths, Pierre-Luc, Julia and Eliane depict a musical world full of startling power and perplexity. As an echo to Bélanger or Ferland (voices), sometimes inspired by Deux or Gary Numan (sounds) Paupière has many influences in several ways but the project can be summarized by a strong ideological affiliation to the new romantics of the early 80s.

Le Couleur rappelle le song-writing pop de Metronomy et le disco kaléidoscopique de Todd Terje. Laurence Giroux -Do, chanteuse québéco-vietnamienne, parle d’Amour, qu’il soit simple et naif, ou encore torturé et complexe, sur fond de disco moderne, tant vaporeux que vitaminé. En 2010, Le Couleur sort son premier album Origami qui leur permet de se propulser au sommet des charts des radios indépendantes du Québec. C’est définitivement en 2013, avec l’EP Voyage Love que le groupe atteint une reconnaissance internationale. En plus d’une presse unanime au Québec et au Canada, le EP reçoit un accueil chaleureux des blogs et magazines dans plus de 15 pays. Cette année Le Couleur lance Dolce Désir avec une tournée liée et une jolie date au MEG !

Le Couleur reminds Metronomy’s pop songwriting and Todd Terje’s Disco kaleidoscopic. Laurence Giroux-Do, Quebec-Vietnamese singer celebrates love, the simple and naïve, or the tortured and complex ones, on modern disco background. In 2010, Le Couleur released their first album, Origami, which propulses them to the top of the charts of independent radio stations in Quebec. It's definitely in 2013, with the EP Love Travel, that the group gained an international echo. In addition to a unanimous press in Quebec and Canada, the EP receives a warm welcome from blogs and magazines in more than 15 countries. This year, LE COULEUR launches Dolce Désir, with a related tour and a nice date at MEG!

DAS MÖRTAL_CA

Das Mörtal commence son aventure à Berlin il y a quelques années. Il invente lui-même le terme de « sci-wave » pour définir sa musique. Fortement influencé par le mouvement techno berlinois des années 90’s mais aussi par la « pop culture » américaine des années 80, un sentiment de mélancolie imprègne toute son œuvre, sombre et captivante, dure et romantique à la fois, influencée par des artistes comme Steve Moore, Aphex Twin, Vitalic, Collège et d’autres. Côté sorties, après "Hotline Miami II", son nouvel Ep, "Never Forgotten", dévoile son côté plus techno.

New to Montreal’s scene, Das Mörtal began his adventure a few years ago in Berlin where he would coin the term “sci-wave” to better describe his music. Influenced by artists such as Steve Moore, Aphex Twin, Vitalic, Collège, etc. and heavily shaped by Berlin techno of the 90s and American pop-culture of the 80s, Das Mörtal’s sound has a darkness to it, a brooding heaviness that help transcend the romantic notions of nostalgia already set in motion. After the mini-EP "Hotline Miami II" issued by Lisbon Lux Records, Das Mörtal is back with "Never Forgotten", revealing a recent penchant for techno by the artist.
