CJLO was first created in 1998 through the merger of CFLI (Loyola campus’s radio station) and CRSG (Sir George Williams campus's radio station). By consequence, we’ve inherited a lot of weird stuff we’re finally looking to part with.
As part of the Community Street Fair – a Concordia Student Union Orientation event – we’ll be selling stacks and stacks of vinyl from the back of our proverbial closet out on Concordia’s downtown campus. Looking for obscure 80s Canadian Content? Searching for bizarro album covers that would never make it past marketing departments - or censors – today? Into following the drama of dueling reviews, written on records by program directors and DJs over three decades ago? Or down to go treasure hunting for some real gems scattered in the collection? We’ve got you covered, and we can at least guarantee some one-of-a-kind finds.
We’ll be set up from 11am to 5pm out on Reggie’s Terrace (behind Concordia’s Hall Building, accessible from Mackay between Sherbrooke and de Maisonneuve). Use the hashtag #CJLOvintagevinyl when you post pictures of your stellar finds (or, of album art so ridiculous no one would believe it if you didn’t share it)! And be sure to check out the rest of the Community Street Fair out on Mackay, including current CJLO DJs spinning their stuff.
