Women Box was created at the occasion of the introduction of women’s boxing at the Commonwealth Games ans was premiered in London 2014.
Composer Jennifer Walshe and the Bozzini Quartet conceived an intense and high-speed piece where singer/actor Laura Jane Bowler was coached by former World Champion Female Boxer Cathy ”The Bitch” Brown.
Book-ending this colorful work, Mauricio Kagel’s rarely played Quartets I and II will be performed. Other works written by Carola Bauckholt and Jennifer Walshe complete the program.
