We are back! And have booked several paid gigs for a number of musicians that have come out to the open mics at the end of 2014! Woot Woot!
For new musicians to these events, here's the scoop:
I want to introduce you to the folks at Kramer's - a music spot in Toronto that is under new management and actually gives musicians a GUARANTEE to play. The venue is ideal for singer-songwriters, duos, and instrumentalists (downstairs or upstairs) and smaller (3-4) piece bands (upstairs). They are currently only booking for the downstairs area, but look to expand to full band events moving forward.
So, come out tomorrow night (January 21st), play a few tunes (I'll have a keyboard and bass on hand, if you want to use them or want others to jam along on your songs) and if your performance is up to snuff we'll get you booked in to play a gig of your own :)
Sign up starts at 8:00. Open mic starts anytime after that. A "cover jam" will happen after the first set (song TBD) and an improv jam will take place at 11:00 to close out the night by 11:30 (or a bit later if we're on a roll).
NO COVER. Just come hang out :) Non-musicians welcome too, of course! :) The more the merrier.
Oh... and so you know ... they serve food too! And have a $5 menu : ) Best to come early if you want to eat... if you want to eat ... while sitting on a seat ; )
