Pheromatch is back for its second edition! After a widely successful first party back in February, we are excited to announce a bigger and better Part II. Intrigued first timer? Pheromatch is an experimental party based on olfaction; our sense of smell. Instead of relying upon visual images to meet and connect with others, we are drawing attention to an aspect of attraction that is ultimately a deal breaker. And we've known this since the dawn of man. Here's how it works: 1. Purchase your ticket ($30). This price includes the materials you will need to participate. Be sure to include your contact information (telephone, address & e-mail) as well as t-shirt size in the comments section. 2. A new t-shirt + mason jar will be hand-delivered to your door. 3. Wear the cotton t-shirt provided to you ONLY WHILE YOU SLEEP for 5 nights in a row (ideally the five nights leading up to the party). Try not to use any scented products around your torso, arms and neck during this time (i.e. deodorant, perfume, scented body wash and/or lotions). You are nonetheless encouraged to keep up your hygiene routine. 4. Seal your t-shirt in the mason jar every morning for those five days. 5. Bring your mason jar containing your t-shirt with you to the party. Don't worry about 'smelling bad', our natural odours are more pleasant than we think. 6. Once you arrive, you will be given two stickers with the same number. One number will be for your mason jar, the other, for you to keep hidden until the group reveal at the end of the night. The stickers will be colour-coded according to gender. 7. Go ahead and take a sniff! Explore the other mason jars and find (a) scent(s) that appeals to you. Keep in mind the associated number(s). We will provide you with a pen and paper to take notes on your impressions of the scents you come across. 8. Group reveal: all participants will reveal their numbers. It will be up to you how much you wish to divulge to others in terms of your observations and your attraction(s)! Don't be shy- approach whoever you'd like! 9. Drink and be merry! There's no pressure to find a match. We're all here to have fun and bring awareness to our sense of smell. Give DJ Jonah Leslie a high five for his awesome music. 10. Join us for the afterparty at Ecole Privee (11:30 p.m.) 11. Take your mason jar and t-shirt home with you. They're yours to keep. Mmmm.
