In the context of his exhibition Pulpe Fiction, multidisciplinary artist Sylvain Rivard will host a creative introductory workshop to Aboriginal basketry (ash basket weaving) as it is practised in Northeastern North America.
Basketry, as well as the ash tree are two pillars of the Abenaki people’s daily life. Come to learn during this workshop, where ash timber will be replaced by paper and where the basketmakers of a day can walk away with their paper basket decorated using natural dyes such as strawberry and potato juices.
