New Orleans native Christian Scott was only 12 when he received his first trumpet, but it wasn't long until his uncle, saxophonist Donald Harrison, noticed his talent and invited him to play onstage and record with him.
The young musician went on to study at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts and later at Boston's Berklee College of Music. The year 2002 saw the release of his debut self-titled album, followed by Rewind That four years later, blending rock, R&B and jazz styles. Personally affected by Hurricane Katrina, he followed with the release of Anthem in 2007.
Always in demand as a session musician, Scott has collaborated with Prince, Marcus Miller, Mos Def and many more. In 2010, he released his third album, Yesterday You Said Tomorrow, followed by Christian aTunde Adjuah two years later. In the interval, he collaborated with Stefon Harris and David Sanchez on Ninety Miles.
