Montreal-based musician Beth McKenna has developed a promising professional career for herself across many diverse musical genres (jazz, funk, R&B, hip-hop, musical theatre, pop-rock, contemporary improvisation) on saxophones, flutes, clarinets and EWI. In her quartet, Beth collaborates with three of Montreal’s most versatile, spontaneous and innovative jazz musicians on many of her own original musical compositions and arrangements. Beth's style can be best described as a unique mix of contemporary jazz-fusion, jazz-rock and groove genres, influenced by artists including Brad Mehldau, Pat Metheny, Keith Jarrett, Maria Schneider, Donny McCaslin and David Binney.
Beth’s career to-date has included studies with many prominent award-winning artists across Canada and the US including Christine Jensen, Darcy James Argue, Jim McNeely, John Roney, Remi Bolduc and Chet Doxas.
