Depuis déjà près de quinze années qu’elles roulent leur bosse dans le milieu du jazz manouche et de la chanson revisitée, Christine Tassan et les Imposteures sont devenues dans incontournables du genre. Elles vous proposent un tout nouveau spectacle réunissant les plus belles pièces de Félix Leclerc et Django Reinhardt.
Ce double hommage savoureux évoque la rencontre entre le chanteur québécois et le guitariste gitan dans un hôtel du quartier de Saint-Germain-des-Prés à Paris en 1950. Si la rencontre est réelle, tout le reste est le fruit de l’imaginaire et de la créativité débordante des quatre musiciennes. Avec audace, virtuosité et humour, elles marient la poésie de l’un au swing de l’autre, inventant un univers musical foisonnant, ode à la créativité, à la liberté, et bien évidemment, splendide coup de chapeau à deux grands artistes qui ont, chacun sur leur contient, marqué les temps et les cultures.

With close to 15 years of bringing their special blend of Gypsy jazz and revisited cover songs to audiences, Christine Tassan et les ImposteurEs have made a name for themselves on the music scene. The new show from this group of four exquisitely talented female musicians brings together some of the best work by Félix Leclerc and Django Reinhardt. This crafty double tribute recalls the meeting between the Québec singer-songwriter and the Gypsy guitarist in a Saint-Germain-des-Prés hotel in Paris, in 1950.
If the two really did meet, the rest is the product of the intensely creative imagination of the quartet. With a singular mix of virtuosity, daring and humour, the four-woman string band draws inspiration from one artist’s poetry and the other’s swing, to weave a rich new musical universe, an ode to freedom and creativity. It is, of course, a fantastic tribute to a pair of great artists who, on their respective continents, had such a lasting impact on their time and their culture.
