Comme une suite à la sortie du célebre Jerusalem Trilogy, le pianiste-compositeur et artiste de la maison de disque Justin Time Matt Herskowitz a récemment publié Matt Herskowitz Upstairs, enregistrée ici devant un public. S'appuyant sur sa formation classique et son amour profond du jazz, l'enregistrement documente une soirée intime en Novembre 2011, avec un mélange habile de styles musicaux avec clins d'œil directs à Michel Petrucciani, Dave Brubeck, George Gershwin, JS Bach et Robert Schumann le long du chemin. Ce soir, Matt sera sur scène une partie du même répertoire présenté sur l'enregistrement, ainsi que quelques nouvelles compositions et des arrangements et une sélection de ses normes préférés.

As a followup to his acclaimed 2010 release Jerusalem Trilogy, pianist-composer and Justin Time recording artist Matt Herskowitz recently released Matt Herskowitz Upstairs, recorded here before a live audience. Drawing on his classical training and his deep love of jazz, the recording documents an intimate evening in November 2011, featuring an artful blend of musical styles with direct nods to Michel Petrucciani, Dave Brubeck, George Gershwin, J.S. Bach and Robert Schumann along the way. This evening, Matt will be performing some of the same repertoire featured on the recording, along with some new compositions and arrangements and a selection of his favourite standards.
