Depuis plus de 30 ans, 5 juno et 2 nominations aux Grammy, Jane Bunnett comble le fossé entre Cuba et l'Amérique du Nord, introduisant au public quelques-uns des meilleurs musiciens que l'île a à offrir.
Grâce à son ensemble de longue date "Spirits of Havana", Jane Bunnett a donné sa chance à plusieurs futurs grands artistes tels que Dafnis Prieto, Yosvanny Terry, Pedrito Martinez et David Virelles, elle est devenue par la même occasion un trésor national ainsi qu'une artiste jazz internationalement acclamée. Jane Bunnett est "Officer of The Order Of Canada" et a remporté en 2015 un "Premiers Award for Excellence in the Arts".
Désormais, avec son nouveau sextet "Maqueque", elle présente certains des musiciennes cubaines les plus prometteuses en y injectant sa propre musique avec une dose revigorante d'énergie de la jeunesse. L'ensemble a remporté le Juno 2015 du meilleur enregistrement jazz pour "Maqueque".

For more than 30 years, 5 time Juno Award winner, 2 time Grammy nominee Jane Bunnett has been bridging the gulf between Cuba and North America,introducing jazz audiences to some of the finest musicians that the island has to offer.
Through her longstanding ensemble SPIRITS OF HAVANA, Bunnett has provided early opportunities to such future greats as Dafnis Prieto, Yosvanny Terry, Pedrito Martinez and David Virelles, and also becoming a national treasure as well as an internationally acclaimed jazz artist in the process. Jane is also an "Officer of The Order Of Canada" and has won an Ontario 2015 "Premiers Award for Excellence in the Arts".
Now, with her new sextet "MAQUEQUE", she introduces the world to some of Cuba's most promising female musicians, injecting her own music with an invigorating dose of youthful energy in the process. Jane Bunnett and MAQUEQUE won a JUNO for "Best Jazz Group Recording for their first CD "MAQUEQUE" 2015.
