FL NorthWest in association with SiriusXM Canada, Vancouver International Film Festival and Creative BC is proud to present the third annual Comedy Short Shorts film competition.
On Saturday, February 18th, 2017 in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Comedy Short Shorts will once again shine a well-deserved spotlight on the talented filmmakers and comedians of the Pacific Northwest. Canadian, American, weird, wonderful and everything in between, we select the best short format comedy films and sketches to delight our live audience before our panel of five industry judges crown the winner.
First place will receive a prize of $1,000 and will have their short film screened at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, Canada’s largest comedy festival!
Submission Details:
All submissions must come from the Pacific NorthWest region of North America which includes the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, as well as the States of, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.
All submissions must be done through FilmFreeway to be eligible.
Submissions must be no longer than 10 minutes in length.
Submission must not have had prior release on the internet or through distribution before the festival.
JFL NorthWest Comedy Short Shorts Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless JFL NorthWest Comedy Short Shorts Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
