Création en état d’urgence, minor matter est un trio porté par Ligia Lewis, Tiran Willemse et Corey Scott-Gilbert. Énigmatique, la performance se nourrit d’une rage généreuse et créative : des corps qui se cherchent ou se battent oscillant entre le renoncement et le désir de jouer. En écho au mouvement Black Lives Matter, l’œuvre cherche à découvrir ce que signifie être Noir… quelque part entre l'utopie et l'apocalypse.
Avec minor matter, deuxième opus du triptyque Blue, Red, White, Lewis poursuit son exploration des passions humaines pour en tirer des chorégraphies complexes. Poétique et politique, son travail suscite des expériences fulgurantes et soulève des questions brûlantes d’actualité.

Creation in a state of emergency: minor matter is a trio presented by Ligia Lewis, Tiran Willemse and Corey Scott-Gilber.
The second in a trilogy of choreographed works, minor matter draws upon visual and conceptual metaphors relating to blackness.
The performance combines both historical and iconic representations of popular forms of dance, and by its end, the piece arrives at a bareness of flesh—both of the theater and its performers.
While Sorrow Swag, the first piece in Lewis’s trilogy that premiered in 2015 and toured internationally, uses the color blue, in minor matter, Lewis turns to the color red to materialize thoughts between love and rage.
