Performance expérimentale, Aattitle aborde sans détour l’emprise qu’ont les mots sur l’expérience et cherche à profaner notre fétichisme pour la linéarité. Simon Portigal tente d’abandonner la sécurité que procure l’identification sociale en utilisant la danse pour façonner des armes douces et évanescentes.
Tendre compagnon, nous sommes à la fois ton ami et ta cible. Ce n’est profitable qu’à toi. Nous sommes tous concernés. Il n’y a aucune issue.
Portigal a étudié la danse à Montréal et à Bruxelles et a travaillé avec d’innombrables artistes et compagnies y compris, entre autres, Ame Henderson, Sasha Kleinplatz, Dana Michel, Michael Trent, et Mårten Spångberg. Il participait dernièrement à l’édition 2016 de la Third Floor Residency à l’Usine C.

Hail language, full of disgrace; we bring forth desires to undo thee. Give us a break, our daily bread, and allow us to undo the historical effects of control on our bodies.
An experimental dance performance, Aattitle aims point blank at language’s grip on the production of experience, seeking to violate our fetish for linearity. Simon Portigal endeavours to abandon the security of identification by using dance to forge weapons of soft, slippery mutability.
Soft comrade, we are with you and your target, both. There are only profitable sides. We are in this together. There is no way out.
Having studied dance in Montreal and in Brussels, Portigal has worked with innumerable artists and companies including, among others, Ame Henderson, Sasha Kleinplatz, Dana Michel, Michael Trent, and Mårten Spångberg. He recently participated in the 2016 edition of the Third Floor Residency at Usine C.
