A theatre of movement inspired by the stories of young people (and not so young people) who have lived as migrants. Created in collaboration with the Teatro O Bando (Portugal) as part of the international project called Boomerang–Traces of Property and Hope, this piece is the result of over 80 workshops offered in three elementary schools in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension neighbourhood. This solo show is put on by Yves Simard of DynamO Théâtre and directed by Jackie Gosselin. Accompanied by a musician, an actor shares stories of regrets and hopes in the life of exiled people, using only movement, words and images. This piece is about sharing voices and views on welcoming strangers—a topic that’s particularly important for TOHU, which is located in the multicultural neighbourhood of Saint-Michel and shares close ties with the community.
