Environmental conservation activities Every Saturday, May 30 through October 31, get involved in protecting Mount Royal’s natural habitats by taking part in selected conservation activities organised as part the environmental stewardship programme of Les amis de la montagne. Weekly tasks vary according to the season and the need. Activities include: · Hand-pulling of Dog-strangling vine, an invasive exotic plant · Common Buckthorn and Norway Maple control (invasive exotic shrub and tree) · Public-awareness building blitz about Mount Royal’s conservation issues · Care of saplings grown in Les amis’ nursery · Native tree and shrub plantation · Monitoring of prior tree plantations Meeting point: Smith House Time: From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Free activity (12 years and older) Enrolment required: cdrolet@lemontroyal.qc.caor 514 843.8240 ext. 0
