In honour of the Campania region, some of the best pastry chefs in Montreal will compete to offer you the best baba, a typical “dolce” from Naples made with yeast and soaked in sweet rum. For this occasion, a jury of renowned local personalities was invited to participate. “I am glad it is this type of cake specifically. I have been trying to find a good rum baba in Montreal for years! As a judge, I will look for a balance between the pastry’s texture and the syrup’s quality. There has to be a spongy side, soft, a bit crisp and not sodden.” - Marie-France Bazzo, judge and TV host Spectators will be treated to FREE tastings. Sweets lovers will not be able to resist this unique flavor of la dolce vita!
