Black Mental Heath Connections (BMHC)
Background:
1 in 5 Canadians experience a Mental Illness in their lifetime. Together we can spread acceptance, understanding and awareness in our community about Mental Health challenges and about where to find help.
In addition to receiving appropriate service, Black Canadians face significant and unique challenges to overcoming the myths and stigmas about mental illness.
Do you know someone facing Mental Health issues? Let them know they're not alone.
Launching in 2016, Black Mental Health Connections (BMHC) is actively bringing together community leaders and organisations to support individuals and family members in the community, courageously meeting the challenges of Mental Illness.
DESTA Black Youth Network is a non-profit community-based organization, catering to mental health challenges of at-risk and marginalized youth between 18 - 25 years old.
