After graduating from Havana’s prestigious Amadeo Roldan Conservatory with a degree in percussion, Brenda joined the Afro-Cuban troupe, Obini Bata, in 2009. The same year, she joined the internationally-acclaimed band, Interactivo, and continues to perform with them. In 2010, Brenda won the Bata drum competition at the Fiesta del Tambor in Havana and she has been endorsed by Canadian cymbal-maker, Sabian, since 2012.
The 25-year old singer, percussionist, composer and arranger performs regularly with her own band in Havana and is featured on radio and television broadcasts. With roots in jazz, Afro-Cuban and traditional Cuban music, Brenda also embraces contemporary styles of World Music.
