Conductor Jean-Francois Rivest is back with a festive program featuring more American composers: picturesque works by Gershwin and Copland, film music by Bernstein as well as Barber’s signature composition. Also on the program is À l’aventure, one of Québec composer Gougeon’s most tonal works with lively rhythms and exotic colours, first performed by the Orchestre Métropolitain in 1990.
