Quatuor Bozzini is very excited to be hosting pianist / composer / wandelweiser Dante Boon (b.1973, www.danteboon.com) for a Performer’s Kitchen Workshop during one his rare visits to Canada.
This concert will conclude the workshop and will feature performances by participating musicians. Admission is by donation.

Amsterdam-based composer and pianist Dante Boon (1973) has been composing since he was 11 years old, playing new music since he was thirteen. He joined a well-known Dutch rock band when he was 24. After its break-up, he worked extensively over the years with composers such as Tom Johnson, Jürg Frey, Antoine Beuger and Samuel Vriezen and played with the major new music ensembles in the Netherlands. His own music has been performed worldwide, especially in the context of music by composers affiliated with the Wandelweiser group, his own music being published by Edition Wandelweiser. As a pianist, he has recorded numerous CD's, often with premiere recordings of solo piano and chamber repertoire. His first solo CD, released in 2010 by Edition Wandelweiser Records, received international acclaim. A new solo album, with piano works by Dutch Wandelweiser composers Beuger, Boon and Susam is scheduled for 2017, as well as a recording of Morton Feldman's 'For John Cage' recorded with American violinist / composer Andrew McIntosh. New music label Another Timbre (UK) just released an album of Jürg Frey and Dante Boon playing three of Boon's solo and duo works for clarinet (and piano).

Basé à Amsterdam, le compositeur et pianiste Dante Boon (1973) compose depuis qu'il a 11 ans, jouant de la musique nouvelle depuis 13 ans. À 24, il a joint un band connu de rock hollandais. Après sa dissolution, il a travaillé extensivement au fils des années avec des compositeurs comme Tom Johnson, Jürg Frey, Antoine Beuger et Samuel Vriezen et a joué avec tous les ensembles importants au Pays-Bas. Sa propre musique a été interpretée partout au monde, surtout en contexte avec les musiciens associés au groupe Wandelweiser, sa musique est publiée par Edition Wandelweiser. Comme pianiste, il a enregistré plusieurs disques, souvent avec les premiers enregistrements des pièces pour piano seul ou pour musique de chambre. Son premier disque solo, lancé en 2010 par Edition Wandelweiser Records, est renommé à l'international. Un nouveau album solo, avec des oeuvres de piano par les compositeurs Wandelweiser hollandais Beuger, Boon et Susam sortira en 2017, en plus un enregistrement de 'For John Cage' de Morton Feldman avec le violoniste / compositeur américain Andrew McIntosh.
