La Nuit blanche à DHC/ART avec Projets hybris

Pour l’édition 2018 de la Nuit blanche à Montréal, DHC/ART Éducation invite la compagnie de création interdisciplinaire projets hybris à présenter «thegiftsofthegifted», une intervention interactive et performative en réponse aux expositions «L’OFFRE» et «Bill Viola: Naissance à rebours», présentées à DHC/ART jusqu’au 11 mars. Ces deux expositions seront également accessibles de 19h à minuit durant la Nuit blanche.
Le temps d’une soirée, la salle éducative de DHC/ART (465, rue Saint-Jean, sous-sol) sera transformée en espace de performance au rythme des échanges entre projets hybris et le public. Au fil de l’événement, la participation des visiteurs aura un impact sur les gestes des performeurs. Les matériaux et objets sont triturés, déconstruits, assemblés; des bribes de conversations sont notées, puis transformées. Les sens changent, les corps se fatiguent, les idées s’accumulent… Par une proposition ludique et stimulante, «thegiftsofthegifted» explore plusieurs thèmes tels que le travail de l’artiste.
«thegiftsofthegifted» fait partie de Dissections, une série d'événements interdisciplinaires organisés par DHC/ART Éducation. L’invitation à projets hybris s’inscrit dans un désir de croisement entre des formes artistiques multiples. Dissections souhaite multiplier et diversifier les discours entourant les œuvres exposées à la Fondation et approfondir le dialogue avec le public.

For this year’s edition of Nuit blanche à Montréal, DHC/ART Education has commissioned interdisciplinary creation company projets hybris to stage "thegiftsofthegifted", a performative and interactive intervention in response to the exhibitions "L’OFFRE" and "Bill Viola: Naissance à rebours", presented at DHC/ART until March 11. These exhibitions will also be accessible from 7 PM to midnight for the Nuit blanche.
For the occasion, DHC/ART’s Education room (465 St-Jean Street, basement level) will be transformed into a performance space modulated by the exchanges between projets hybris and the public. Throughout the evening, the audience’s participation will have an impact on the performers’ gestures. Materials and objects will be fiddled with, deconstructed, assembled; fragments of conversations will be noted and transformed. Senses will change, bodies will tire, ideas will accumulate… A playful and stimulating proposal, "thegiftsofthegifted" explores various themes such as the artist’s labor.
"thegiftsofthegifted" is part of Dissections, a series of interdisciplinary events organized by DHC/ART Education. The invitation to projets hybris comes with a desire to blend multiple artistic forms. Dissections wishes to multiply and diversify discourses around the works exhibited at the Foundation in order to further the dialogue with our public.
