For the sixth consecutive year, the Finance and Investment Students’ Association (FISA) of the John Molson School of Business is proud to host the John Molson Stock Exchange competition. This dynamic event will take place on Saturday, November 14th, 2015, at the St. James Theatre located in Montréal’s historic Old Port. Participants will be able to compete in groups of four against other students from universities across Canada and the United States for monetary prizes totaling $5,000. Each student will compete in an open-outcry market, entertaining and soliciting bids and offers, in pursuit of maximizing the value of his or her fictitious portfolio. Using proprietary software developed by our team of student software programmers, we aim to provide students with the most realistic experience of what it is like to be a trader in an open outcry market. The John Molson Stock Exchange competition allows participants to bridge the gap between theory and practice, while providing the opportunity for students to network and meet with industry professionals. The event is designed to be beginner friendly, therefore all University students interested in Finance are welcome to register, no matter their field of study or their level of knowledge on the subject. The cost for the event includes material required for the event, a continental breakfast, and lunch. Please take note that registration will begin October 1st and close on November 7th.
