Sam Black Sketches
En 1988, Gerald Borch commande au compositeur et chef d'orchestre Stewart Grant une pièce pour orchestre inspirée des oeuvres de l'artiste Sam Black (1913-1997). Cette exposition où les arts s'entremêlent rend hommage à la rencontre entre le peintre et le musicien. De leur amitié est né un poème symphonique qui sera présenté par des orchestres symphoniques à travers le Canada et les États-Unis.

Sam Black Sketches
In 1988, Gerald Borch commissioned composer/ conductor Stewart Grant to write an orchestral work based on the art of British Columbia artist Sam Black (1913-1997). This exhibition blends art forms and pays tribute to this meeting between the artist and the musician. From their friendship, a major symphonic work was born and has been performed by symphony orchestras across Canada and in the United States.
